As we near the High Holy Days, we seek to be closer to our true and authentic selves. We look inward to hold ourselves accountable and we reach outward toward divine sweetness and beauty. Each week during the month of Elul, we will be posting a song to help prepare us for entering the High Holy Day period. Today George Emblom and I offer the words from Psalm 118 “Open for me the gates of righteousness, I will enter them and give thanks to God.” May we understand that the gates of prayer and repentance are always open for us if we but turn ourselves back to our true and authentic selves.
